Prepare yourself for more little crafty things coming your way! Tonight I made a Star Wars zipper bag.
So after we moved to the barn I brought out the sewing machine and I managed to squeeze it into the tiny little room that used to be my husband’s office in the camper. There was a new policy at his work and now he has to commute into the office little over an hour but I suppose the upside is now there’s space for me to steal. Haha! Most of my fun stuff is still in storage so I’m trying to find a way to get some of my creative time without really starting to feel sad that I don’t have a house.
I really need my lair back.
Anita Goodesign come out with these really cute zipper bag designs here and there and I love tweaking them and try to make them personal for us. I also like making limited-edition versions of them for my shop as well! You want this one? It’s HERE. (Maybe.)
Which brings me to the Star Wars zipper bag. I lost the instructions on how to make these, but luckily, I have a pretty darn good memory when it’s something that doesn’t require a deadline. This particular zipper bag called for a clear back but when I was putting on the Star Wars fabric I was disappointed that you couldn’t get much of the picture showing so therefore I thought it best to go ahead and make the back panel fabric to bring more of the Star Wars print to life.
This bag measures 9 inches wide by 5 inches tall. I keep three of them in my purse and they’re in all different fabrics so just by glancing inside I know which ones which and then I don’t have a ton of crap just floating around the bottom of my bag. I was using them for oils as well and you can shove 18-20 in there if you’re really good in they’re all the 5 mL size, but after making my white and gold zippy bag that has the compartments I found a new use for these bags.
- Bag number one holds my pens and pencils for my Happy Planner
- Bag number two holds all of my charger cords and adapters I need for my iPhone. This is in an attempt to stop constantly saying “my phone’s about to die…” Who am I kidding I practically have a land line again.
- Bag number three is the toiletry bag. Travel toothbrush and toothpaste, a chap stick, emergency mascara, and also emergency hair ties.
